The Rest of the Story

Hindu-Christian

We are living in a time when there are variations of religions that are discussed as if they all are mostly the same. Many in the media tend to give each value based on their inclusiveness, accepting the largest number of beliefs. The experts working in the media never provide any verses from the Holy Bible as a source for supporting their comments nor do they offer any detailed beliefs from the various religions. So, on a 100,000-foot level, they can state some general concepts and then assume that they all believe the same and will get you to the same place after death.

Vice President Harris has been described as a Hindu-Christian having adopted a combination of her mother’s Hindu faith and her father’s Baptist faith. It has been said that allows her to see things from a different perspective.

Janamanchi said he finds Harris a refreshing candidate who is not “touting her faith,” or “carrying it like a badge of honor, pulling the religion card depending on who she is with.” Her various “Christian, Hindu and Jewish influences seem to provide her with a broad and inclusive perspective,” he said.

As voters get to know her, Rambachan believes, they will find that Hinduism’s tenet of inherent divinity within all human beings suits the American democratic ethos. “One of the most fundamental values of the Hindu tradition is articulated in that beautiful prayer, ‘Loka samastha sukhina bhuvantu: May all be happy.’ Public policy has to be focused on the good life for all.””

I will not attempt to address the issues involved with the other religions when someone or a group modifies the true beliefs to suit their own desires, but I will provide some details that are important to a religion based on Jesus Christ, the head of the Christian Church and the subject of the Holy Bible.

Matthew 7:13-14 English Standard Version
13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy[a] that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Jesus tells us that the “wide gate” is easy to enter, allowing a large number to come in with no real restrictions to your life decisions. He says the “narrow gate” is much harder to enter and only a few will enter because certain life decisions are required. Jesus tells us that God wants everyone to come in, but it is only possible through the “narrow gate”.

John 14:1-7 English Standard Version
I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life
14 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God;[a] believe also in me. In my Father’s house
are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?[b] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”[c] Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also.[d] From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

In verse 6, Jesus clearly says that entry into Heaven can only happen by accepting Him and only Him as their pathway to be with God.

Ephesians 4:6 New International Version
one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Many verses in the Bible discuss multiple gods and those verses are there to tell us about the dangers of worshiping false gods. A person who calls themself a christian and has not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior is not a Christian. A true Christian cannot accept other gods nor can they say that other beliefs have equal value. The path to becoming a Christian is the understanding that we all sin and fall short of perfection to get to Heaven on our good works and that Jesus died on the cross and accepted “our” sins so that we could be forgiven by Grace. Jesus is the only “narrow gate” and all that choose Him will be included or allowed into Heaven.

Those who teach or believe in any other pathway are rejecting Jesus and God’s teachings. That decision is the “wide gate” that is easy to enter; however, that door is the door to enter Hell. If your church tells you that the Bible is not correct or that it is out of date, that some new additions make the christian church more inclusive, then you need to spend more time reading the Bible.

Hebrews 13:8-9 English Standard Version
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.

Jesus is telling all future generations that what was true in the time of Genesis, true during the time He walked on Earth, will be true for all eternity. Simply put, nothing new on Earth will change what He has taught. No new conditions, no changes, and no deletions. Here is where He warns against changes.

Revelation 22:18-19 New International Version
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

Everyone in America has the legal right to believe and worship any faith or to not believe in the existence of any god. The US Constitution affirms that right and prevents the creation of a National Religion like the Church of England. The US Constitution prevents our government from placing restrictions on or using government departments to control faith-based organizations like churches or schools. The Hindu beliefs and the Holy Bible which is the foundation of the Christian Church, are not compatible. Hindu faith supports thousands of gods and Christians only accept one God. Hindus believe you can be good enough to become a god.
