There is more that I don’t know than I know for sure. That is hard to say for someone who has acquired a lot of worthless information during his lifetime. I have often been asked the same question by young children. “When a child dies, do they go to Heaven?” Some adults have this question when they understand the requirement of choosing to accept Jesus Christ as their savior to gain entry to Heaven.
There are many verses in the Bible involving children and they all show God’s love and protection for them. My beliefs are based on my understanding of the Bible is that children go immediately to be with God. However, once the child has reached the age of understanding, their access to Heaven is then dependent on their acceptance of Jesus Christ. There is no set age limit, because of factors like their family environment.
Today, I watched a video of a question asked of a pastor who has been sharing the Gospel for most of his life. I consider him to be a man of great wisdom of our time. The question was “Do the souls of aborted babies go to Heaven?” That question creates issues for many people and a rejection of concepts by large numbers. My faith tells me that the soul exists at the instant of conception and that the soul has a connection with the mother and God. The pastor said that when life ends, the soul goes to Heaven.
My thoughts then said, “Will the mother know her child if she makes it to Heaven one day? Will the child’s brothers or sisters know the child?” Our minds are limited to the kinds of conditions that we have exposure to learning and understanding. I understand that none of the baggage of our life here will exist in Heaven and none of our disabilities or illnesses will exist or even be in our thoughts. Just the idea of so much knowledge and no “what ifs”.
Something to think about.
