Sam Houston 25th Reunion (1986)

I was looking through old photos and came across these pictures from the Sam Houston High School 25th reunion of the Class of 1961. Here is proof that 40+ year-olds still could dance. That was the year it was at a hotel in the Galleria, and we all showed up dressed to impress. Back then we talked about our kids and our careers. Contrary to how it looks in the picture, Eva was my date and not Marvin Carley’s. I think they were chosen to lead the singing of the school song. I remember having a fun time with good friends, good food, and some great dance music. We were still young enough to have a grownup date at night and try to look successful. Our memories included stories about how close we were back when we were classmates.

At the end of the night, we assured each other we would get together soon. So much has changed since then and our numbers are smaller these days.
