How Does A Person Get To Heaven?

Most parents have been asked this question if they have children that have reached the age of understanding that Heaven exists. I expect that various answers have been provided based on the faith of the parent. I am fairly confident that many adults simply have rejected the truth about this question and have become comfortable with believing a lie as the answer. Anytime spent reading God’s Word, the Bible will make it clear that is not a new problem.

So, why would there be any difference of opinion on how a person gets to Heaven? All “deception” is from one source – Satan. Satan only has one purpose and that is to deceive you into believing lies. That is Satan’s only power and he must have those that believe his lies do all of his work that brings pain and suffering into our world. Every bad thing and evil action begins with one of his lies that someone believes and acts on. For those that question the accuracy of this statement – prove me wrong with an example. I am not referring to a person with cancer or anything like that. If you have had something stolen from you, someone believed the lie that they deserved it more than you.

What is a lie and are there good lies? Are there little white lies and big dark lies? How does a person make that distinction? Where does “truth” come from and are there more “truths” than one? Does it matter what another person believes or why they believe it? Do you care if another person does not get to Heaven as long as you get there? I could add another twenty questions to provoke your answers, but my point is your answers will be based on your current faith. That determines how you answer these questions and how you view most everything in your life.

Here is a simple “TRUTH” that is true no matter what your faith is based on! For Christians and non-Christians – God’s TRUTH is the only true fact. God controls all access to Heaven and there is only one key to get in. God has been clear that you cannot be good enough to get there, you cannot work hard enough to get there and you cannot buy your way there.

John 3:16 New King James Version
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 14:6 New King James Version
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

God’s Word is clear that only by accepting Jesus Christ as your savior, acknowledging that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness, and becoming a new person in Christ is the key to God’s Kingdom. That process changes everything in your life and your beliefs. You accept all of God’s message and get the false doctrines out of your life. Jesus has already spoken to those that teach and believe new ideas about what is “right” and “wrong”.

Hebrews 13:8-9 New King James Version
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.

Every new lifestyle that our current government is giving special protective status is from Satan and God has already dealt with these in the past. The proof of that is contained within the Bible. For those that believe otherwise, read the Bible to see firsthand! For those that believe you can select the items from a list to create your “faith” basis, Jesus has a reply to you and that idea.

Revelation 22:18-19 King James Version
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

No person should accept as their faith anything that another person tells them on the basis of what you think of that individual or how it fits with how you want to live your life. You must have that conversation with God! It is not possible to be a Christian because of where you were born or who your family is. Salvation is only on a personal relationship basis, just you and Jesus Christ. No club membership or church membership will get you the key to Heaven. However, church attendance may provide much greater knowledge of God’s desires for your life and help your understanding of many things including how God wants you to use your faith.
