Over the weekend, I watched a movie that was filmed several years ago but recently made available on one of the streaming channels I watch. The movie is called “New Life,” and it is a “tear-jerker”. I watched the trailer and thought I might get all the way through it. What sucked me in was that the little girl and boy first met when the boy moved into the neighborhood.
The movie follows their relationship into the college years, with the two of them living in different cities but still trying to maintain their relationship. She becomes an elementary school teacher, and he is working to become an architect working for his dad’s firm. I am not going to disclose too much more in case someone wants to watch the movie. I had a feeling of guilt when his long hours working caused problems with her plans. There is a storm that comes into their lives that reminds me of some we had in our lives. As I sat there, sad as it was, it reminded me of what it is like to know that God was there with us during those storms.
Sometimes, we just need to look at our past through a different window to appreciate our blessings.
